A girl's moment before a coffee Empty A girl's moment before a coffee

We entered the coffee, Darcie and I, still holding hands. That wasn't awkward for me, I was never, or rarely should I say, embarrassed, but I thought it might be for her, so I dropped it.
I went towards a free table and sat to face the door. It was always safer when you could see who was getting in.
"So, have you got an idea now?" I asked the blonde girl sitting in front of me.

I smiled proudly. "I have," I took a glance at the menu and said "Or maybe not...." I considered every option until I saw the perfect drink for me. "I've got it." I said with perfect seriousness. "I am drinking a mocha coffee with lots o' whipped cream and chocolate chips on top with milk and chocolate syrup and maybe some cinnamon and extra chocolate."

I laughed quietly. "Really? Wow." Then I barely looked at the menu myself. "I don't drink coffee. In my state, it would only make me even more difficult to bare. I'm getting a hot chocolate with a mountain of cinnamon on top. That's sooooo tasty I could drink three liters in one go."

I smiled and said, "I can only drink coffee every once in a while but I could drink it all the time if I filled it with all of my favorite things- like chocolate. mmm! I love chocolate." I was a in a dream-like state thinking about chocolate until I realized how much of a derp I must've looked like and reverted back to normal Darcie.

I myself started dreaming about a bar of chestnut chocolate. "Chocolate's the best remedy against spleen. But I would die for a bunch of Jelly Beans."

I looked blankly at Ana for a moment. "But then you wouldn't get to eat th- Oh! I get it!" Where do the English and Americans get their idioms from!

"You really have to learn irony and sarcasm in the English language world, Miss Celtic." I laughed. "Can you tell me something in Irish then, I'm curious."

"Hmm...oh, this is my favorite one! Ní hé lá na gaoithe lá na scolb. It means "A windy day is not the day is not the day to be fixing your roof. It's one of the most said thing in Dublin. Well, Scileann fíon fírinne is said more, but that means wine lets out the truth and we're a bit underage for that."

I laughed a bit. "La tua facia a aperto il mio cuore con l'amore delle piĂą belle giornati del estate. It means "Your face has opened my heart with the love that is spread by the most beautiful days of summer." That's italian." I blushed a little. "My grandmother wanted me to know several languages. In case we had to flee somewhere unexpected."

"Oh! Maybe I could teach you some Irish, then, should you have to go to Ireland someday," Darcie said helpfully.

"Yeah, right, that'd be great! Is it spelled with a different alphabet, like Greek?"

"Not exactly. We use the roman alphabet. Actually we only use 18 letters of the roman alphabet. But we have accents and tones so we use more sounds than English, despite having less letters. You have to pronounce things certain ways to not get them confused with other words."

"Just like French" I sighed. "You can't imagine how many different sounds they got. Like "Puis-je avoir un café s'il vous plait?" A pure nightmare to pronounce." I giggled. "Grandma loves going to Paris, you know. She had a friend there, her name was Marie. She was killed not so long ago. That's why last time we went on holiday we went to Italy. Better, way better, but much too hot for me. Have you ever been there?"

"No, but I've been to Scotland and that's just enough travel for me! I like having a home to stick to, a place that I can say, 'Hey, I live there; I belong there.' That's what I've always wanted." Darcie said, unknowingly giving one of her better kept secrets.

I calmly nodded. "I agree. I like visiting places. Like, very old plcaes, like Rome. That was magnificent. But I can't stay far from home more than a week, after that I'm starting to freak out. Like right now, I'm not home, I'm totally freaking out. That's why I use my mirror every time I've got some spare time, I want to check if my brother's alright."

"With someone like Hermione Granger to watch over him, I'm sure he's as safe as a king in Fort Knox," I said with an encouraging smile. "Still, I can't blame you for wanting to check. I remember half expecting to find Clovis dead if I left him alone at the orphanage so I snuck him into Scotland in my baggage." I laughed as I remembered the funny memory.
