Lesson one - First years

I didn't lift my gaze. "Clem, I think that's not helping her. French, remember?"

"Oh yeah. Oiseaux d'amour signifie généralement deux personnes agissant ensemble lovey-dovey autour de l'autre?" I said, comletely unsure of every word.

I snorted. "Je confirme: chez toi on appelle ça des amoureux transis." I turned to Clementine. "Since when do you speak French?"

I jesitated, before replying with "Je l'ai appris dans un de mes anciennes écoles. Je seulement six ou sept, donc je ne me souviens pas beaucoup. And I'll bet you anything there's something missing from what I've just said."

"Just a verb, but I get it." I winked. "In fact, J'avais seulement six ou sept ans" might be the best construction, but Emie here seems to be accepting to any kind of syntaxic mistakes." I winked to the blondie who was still silent.

I had followed the exchange between the two of them like a tennis match, but decided to stop it. "I get it, thanks. So those two, who are inside the classroom, keep on kissing each other and making smurching noises?"

"Well, pretty much. I don't know. I haven't looked at them for a minute or something. Probably....Peut-être."

"Oh how I wish one of you spoke Irish. French sounds like gibber gabber and English sounds like such a rough language! Eirinn go Brách! Ah, how nice that sounds." Darcie zoned out for a bit, reminiscing about her native home when she realized that she actually talked. Out loud. In front of a person she didn't know. Blushing, Darcie looked at the ground, but smiled too.

I widened my eyes when Darcie spoke something that sounded close to Celtic. "That sounds beautiful too." I said low enough not to be heard by everyone. Then I turned my gaze towards the door. "I'd rather sit with you, then. I hate...lovebirds, since my brother got married."

I started chuckling. "How lucky you are. I wished I had anyone to smurch before the end of the world, actually."

"I'll probably die before I get my first kiss. Snogging is out of the question."

Alex stopped the kiss and quickly said "Lemme just check on the rascals yea?" He said rushing off and out the door. "Don't be so sure love." He winked as he gave Clem a peck on the lips. "I have things to do and places to be, laters."

Clementine didn't move for a very long time after that. She just stood still, eyes wide, mouth forming a perfect 'O'.

I started laughing like the devil, and tried to tap my own back as to try not to choke to death.
"Clem...The look on your face: priceless!"

Clementine uttered, mouth unmoving, comething uncoherent which could be translated to something along the lines of "I did not expect that."

I couldn't help but giggle.

After a few rapid blinks and a firm shake of the head which probably knocked some of my brain loose, I started walking down to the Vox Common Room, saying hysterically back to the rest that "They're not real lessons, the teachers have abandoned us so I don't need to attend. That, and, don't you only kiss people you actually like? My dirst kiss is wasted. Hear me? WASTED!"

"Breathe, Clementine..." I murmured to myself, before vanishing around a turn in the corridor.

Throughout most of this, Madeline had stayed silent, only watching the people around with a curious expression whenever she looked up from her book on charms. Watching the red-head leave, she pulled a lollipop out of her pocket, beginning to suck on it. "Why'd she run off?" Madeline asked curiously,

I turned to see someone I really never saw hanging there. I widened my eyes when I saw that, now I knew Clem, there were three red-heads in my classroom. Weasley's genes, eh?
"Alex ruined her first kiss by pecking her on the lips. She waits for the right moment. That guy understands nothing to us girls." I sighed and sat back down as Darcie, Emie and Amy stayed no where to be seen. For now.
"Haven't seen you before. Are you new?"

Alex couldn't help turning around as he walked down the corridor, "I heard my name, were you congratulating me on my awesomeness?!" He yelled grinning widely.

Darcie giggled at Alex."Such a proud and boastful person you are, Alex! I'm not quite sure about congratulating you or awesomeness, but we were discussing you." Darcie's look of humor turned to that of slight worry, nervousness and awkwardice. "Hey uhm...Alex...could I uhm...could I talk to you after class?"

"What did I miss?" Amy asked, head around the corner of the door. "Oh, don't mind me, I was just reading some Charms book," she said cheerfully in reply to the looks she was given, waving a book in the air with mild excitement.

"Sure, what's on your mind?" Alex asked giving a small wave to Amy.
