Lesson 1 (First years)

"Well...," Darcie said quietly but quickly regretted. That meant she had to answer. Oh man! I don't want to upset him! Darcie tried to think of a nice way to put it."Well...you're just a bit of a...flirt..." Darcie said flirt as low as a whisper but she still blushed, hard as she tried not to.

Alex grinned. "What's wrong with that?"

"Well...it...it uhhhh...," Darcie stammered trying to find the words as her blush deepened. She looked to the desk she was sitting at so as to avoid looking at anyone. "It could get people in trouble, I suppose."

"I see...." He muttered.

"Well, not that kind of trouble just well...I don't know," Darcie said looking a bit concerned at Alex. She laughed and shrugged her shoulders.

"What Darcie's trying to explain is that I'm already the flirt in this room, there can't be two of us..." I stuck my tongue at them but I knew it wouldn't help teasing.

Good gracious, save me before I die of laughter! Darcie wiped a tear of laughter away and wondered if it was a smart or wise idea to get in the middle of what might about to be ensuing. She decided it wasn't. She jumped in anyway. "Mayhaps two in the same room would work. It's worked thus far." Darcie smiled slyly at what was probably a pretty lame joke and tease.

"I don't think so. My perfectness is enough to light up the room. Maybe he could find some other friends and enlight them with his...flirty manners." I stuck my tongue at Alex once more and then made my hair go swooch. Then I huffed in laughter. "We are soooo bad girls!" I lifted my hand to high-five Darcie.

Darcie returned the high-five and laughed. This was the most bad-ass she had ever felt. Ever. As in ever ever. So she was feeling kind of like a rock star. "Well with every light should come some darkness you know," Darcie said making a ball of swirling shadow in her hand. She laughed and made the ball into a miniature dragon to fly and join the paper dragon.

My eyes widened, followed the shadow dragon, and then turned back to Darcie. "You're my new bestfriend."

On the outside, Darcie smiled widely. On the inside, she was jumping up and down, setting off fireworks, playing rock on a victory guitar, and generally performing all manner of excitement. Darcie looked to the shadow dragon and made it fly to her where it landed in her palm. The dragon turned into a wolf which grew smaller and smaller until it became a small stone of solid shadow."Here," Darcie said handing Ana the pure solid shadow mini-wolf.

I took the gift as if it was glass. I looked at it over and over again. Then a single tear landed on my cheek. "That's so beautiful. I can't offer you something half as great as that, sorry." I looked in her grey eyes with thankful thankful eyes, then I got my talking mirror out of my pocket.

"Hermione Granger." I said to the looking-glass. "I hope she answers this time."

Darcie laughed softly and shook her head."You misunderstand. Ni dhiolann dearmad flacha. A debt is still unpaid even if forgotten. I am only repaying you for the great wealth that you have given me,"

"You're the wealth, Darcie. You underestimate yourself greatly."
I took the mirror and out it back in my pocket. "Sorry folks, apparently my godmother's still on the run. I would have loved to introduce you."
Then I turned back to my paper dragon. "She taught me how to do that. And that," I pointed my wand on my throat and spit fire that brunt my dragon down, "Is one of Teddy's favorite. I found it in the Half-Blood Prince potion book."

"What happened to me being your best friend. Now I feel outnumbered." He grinned.

"You're not my bestfriend. You're my best boy friend. That's better. Boy friend being in two words, in case you wondered." I stuck my tongue again. I really have done that all day, haven't I?

"Well, I'll be your friend. And so you're not left out..." Darcie looked thoughtful trying to think of what animal reminded her of Alex. Her face shone when she had the perfect one. Darcie made another pure solid shadow statue, this one a fox, and gave it to Alex smiling brightly.

Alex stared down at the fox. "Thanks." Was all he managed before he gave Darcie a hug.

Darcie smiled and took a deep breath when she hugged Alex."It's a very little problem. You're welcome, though I am still only repaying my debt." Darcie shook her head lightly and smiled. She doubted that her friends could ever know how much more precious their friendship was to her.

"Had a nice... WHAT!?!" Clementine's head shot straight up, her eyes wide "I don't snore, do I? I'm sorry, I really am, I..." she slumped back in her seat, a blush creeping up her neck.

Alex laughed a bit. Chuckling he muttered; "No you dont snore"

"It's okay Clementine, don't worry about it," Darcie said with a short pat on Clementine's shoulder. "Out of curiosity, would you mind terribly telling me what you dreamed about?"

"It was obviously about me." He grinned.

"If it was about you, I'd have killed myself by now," Clementine said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "So it wasn't. It was about me having so much homework nobody could get into the dorms."

She rested her head in her left hand and breathed heavily through her nose.

"And it was due the day after I got it. I pretty much woke up as I fell asleep in the dream."

"Huh, Clementine, would you mind me askin', you're in Vox, right?"
